Should I bring cash or cards?

Lombok

At Marshmellow villa in Indonesia, we accept both cash in local currency and cards. Any remaining balance will be settled in the local currency. We do not exchange nor accept international currencies.

For your convenience, it's recommended to carry both cards and cash during your trip. You can carry up to $10,000 in cash, comprising various currencies.

Cards:
They offer convenience and security, particularly in retail chains and supermarkets. Most establishments levy a 3% fee for card transactions

Local Currency:
IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) is the local currency, exchangeable into major currencies (USD, EUR, AUD) upon your return.

Currency Exchange Options:

Airport Exchange: Available at the airport, albeit with around a 5% fee.
- ATMs: A safer option if you prefer not to carry large sums of cash, despite the approximate 5% fee. Each withdrawal allows up to 3 million IDR (please check your bank's additional charges).

Security Measures:

Sri Lanka offers a reliable network of air-conditioned and local buses running any time of the day, despite some areas experiencing chaotic and unsafe traffic conditions. Transportation apps are not available, so we advise arranging transfers with us beforehand. Our airport transfers to the camp are thoughtfully organized to match your flight schedule

Scooters and cars provide flexibility for navigating the island's scenic routes. While local acceptance of transportation apps like Grab and Gojek may be limited, we recommend arranging transfers with us in advance. The best time to visit for ideal all year round. With summer offering big waves and dry weather while. The period October till may offers smaller waves but perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers.

Sri Lanka

The optimal time for surfing is from November to May when the waves are most favorable. This period also coincides with the dry season, providing sunny days and pleasant weather.
